When you think of envy inspiring desserts, what do you think of? I’ll give you a hint: It’s not chocolate-praline cake in a jar! Okay, that wasn’t a very good hint, so I’ll just tell you. Personally, I think of cheesecake!

Okay, sorry, where were we? Oh, right, envy worthy cheesecake. I love cheesecake. Period. End of story. I think it’s a great dessert that isn’t too sweet and for some reason, feels quite grown up and chic. Is that just me?

Cheesecake cake in a jar recipes are also what I think of when I summon up images of the perfect summer dessert. Probably because they tend to incorporate fresh fruit (like berries or bananas) and aren’t too heavy. Oh, and there are lots of no bake cake in a jar recipes for cheesecake as well as crockpot cheesecake recipes. Not having to turn on the oven during the dog days of summer is always a huge bonus.

This cake in a jar recipe for no bake banana cream cheesecake is spoon scraping good! Oh, and it’s a fine way to use up bananas that are on their last leg. (You all know how I hate wasting food!)

I love that it’s one of those cake in a jar recipes you can whip up in just a few minutes… you know, when you suddenly remember you were supposed to bring something to book club which starts in about an hour! 😉 Seriously, you can have this no bake cheesecake ready to gobble up in less than 20 minutes.

INGREDIENTS

*This cake in a jar recipe makes about twelve (12) 16 oz. Mason jar servings. 

2 bananas
1 3.4 oz package Jell-O instant banana pudding
16 oz Cool Whip topping
8 oz cream cheese, softened
1 1/3 cup milk
Nilla wafers
12 16 oz Mason jars

DIRECTIONS

1. Whisk milk and jell-o together in a large bowl and place in the fridge for 5 minutes.

2. Remove bowl from fridge, and mix in 8 oz. of Cool Whip.

3. Mix in 1 banana and 8 oz block of softened cream cheese using a hand or stand mixer.

4. Scoop cake in a jar recipe mixture into a 16 oz Mason jar, filling the jar about halfway.

5. Repeat step 4 with additional Mason jars until you’ve used up all of the mixture.

6. Top each Mason jar with Nilla wafers, sliced bananas, and Cool Whip.
