Early Life
Nicolas-Jacques Charrier was born on Lyon, France in 1983. His father, who was a professor of engineering, taught at the University of Lyon while his mother, an architect of repute, was also his childhood role model.
These sources of influence of technical as well as creative would later develop his style of doing business and innovations. Born in the area of Lyon which is considered to be a historical part of the city, young Nicolas-Jacques slightly appreciated the lines of good mix between historical background and advancing development.
He had his high school education at the Lycée du Parc, and proved himself to be very gifted in mathematics and physics. His younger years in school saw him make many victories in his academics especially in science fair and other design initiatives.

Career
Charrier chose to continue his learning process at École Polytechnique which is one of the hardest engineering universities in France. He later completed his degree in 2005 while majoring in Integrated Sustainable Energy Systems and Intelligent Infrastructure.
When writing his thesis on how renewable energy could be incorporated into historical European urban cities, he attracted the interest of several of the major French technology companies.
Since the stewardship of EcoTech Solutions, it has become one of the leading players in European green technologies. Fortunately, the company has been able to work on some revolutionary projects such among them is the smart grid project of the old town of Lyon. He actively participates in international conferences dedicated to sustainable development and smart city.

The collaboration between Nicolas-Jacques Charrier and Anne-Line Bjerkan is a work perfect combination of the strength and the skills that these two bring to the partnership as well as the values that unites the two individuals.
Anne-Line is an environmental scientist and policy advisor from Norway, she met Charrier in a conference on sustainable development in Oslo in 2015. Environmental Management and Sustainability was therefore the core of their interests at the onset of their interaction.
Anne-Line also comes with her portfolio to this partnership having worked a lot in policy making in environmental issues in the Scandinavian countries. The couple has tied the knot in 2018 in an environmentally friendly ceremony held in Norway. Both have set up The Charrier-Bjerkan Foundation, which focuses on young innovators in sustainable technologies.
