Early Life
Marizona who is the wife of Shane was originally from Arizona and she perhaps grew up living the cowboy Western kind of life that his wife’s husband would later sing in most of his songs. Born in the immediate post World War I era, she was disciplined in her childhood and had high work ethic and a rather utilitarian outlook on life that would prove to be useful as she would soon become a country singer’s wife.
While in her formative years, she adopted the customs and norms prevailing in the American Southwest and as a result she listened to country music and respected tradition of the region. Marizona was employed primarily to look after the family and husband’s business, however she performed all household chores diligently and efficiently. However, she is most important unsung hero as she ensured Marty was given all the support from home to become a musician.
She had executive and domestic chores to perform and she was equally efficient and strong in the two tasks. While Marizona did not have a public career herself, the administration of family business and nurturing Marty’s career was her life’s work.

Marizona married Martin David Robinson, who will be referred to as Marty Robbins in this paper, on the 27th of September 1948. Marty and Carolyn continued to be married for more than three decades, they created music and children and all sorts of experiences before Marty passed away in 1982.
