Conrad Hilton Jr., most famously styled as ‘Nicky’ Hilton was an influential figure in American social circuit, for being the direct heir to the Hilton’s chain of Hotels and a less-known first husband to British actress Elizabeth Taylor. Early Life
Conrad Hilton Jr. was born on July 6, 1926 in Dallas, Texas into great wealth as the first-born son of Conrad Hilton, the hotel mogul. Right from childhood, Nicky more fondly known as was trained to take over the family business mainly the hotel industry.
Born during the expansion of the Hilton hotel chain company, he saw at first-hand how an American business was created. However, it is important to note that from early childhood, Nicky did not lack everything, but he had his own problems.
They divorced in 1934 which affected his childhood because he started moving from one house to another. He did go to some of the best private schools in California and was well behaved, charming and enjoyed partying till the rise of the adult Sacramento society.
Career
Unlike his father, who started Hilton hotel empire from ground up Nicky never really got it together in the world of commerce. He was a less dedicated and hardworking man, rarely getting a satisfactory job in various positions in different Hilton run hotels all over the world.
The role he played in the family business was dwarfed by his social and personal life issues. However, he could not become a successful independent entrepreneur; he continued to work within the sphere of hotel business thanks to his family name.
He was a member of number of boards and committees that governed properties associated with Hilton hotel, despite the fact that he performed largely symbolic functions and hardly ever managed the business. A constant area of conflict throughout his career was to come out of the shadow of his father in the business world.

Mary Adelaide Barron, Nicky’s mother, was also from New Mexico, an important family. She was first wed to Conrad Hilton Sr. in 1925 until 1934. Looking at Mary, she was a strong Catholic, who was still bringing up her offspring. After she divorced Conrad Sr.; she continued to play an important role in Nicky’s life, being a voice of reason most of the time during his worst phases.
