T’is the season to use up those tasty leftover cranberries that you still have in your refrigerator from Thanksgiving! I just whipped up the most delicious warm cranberry oatmeal and I MUST share this recipe with you. The key to this breakfast is to eat it immediately after making the cranberry sauce!
To make the Cranberry Sauce you’ll need the following:
- 1 c. cranberries
- 1/2 c. Orange Juice
- 1/4 c. honey
- Dash of Cinnamon
The first thing you’ll want to do is bring the orange juice, cinnamon & honey to a boil. Once boiling add the cranberries and reduce heat to a simmer. Let them simmer until they pop and thicken.
Now I don’t know about you..but making cranberry sauce is about as fancy as it gets for my cooking abilities, so I paired it with some instant 1 minute Quaker Oatmeal! I layered the cranberry sauce & oatmeal and then topped it off with a dollop of cranberry sauce. As I mentioned before, you will want to eat this while it’s warm!
You may notice that I made a couple of sizes, I like to use this jelly jar size for the kids, so there’s no waste!
