Early Beginnings in Professional Wrestling

Mio Shirai debuted in professional wrestling in March 2007, and became known for her in-ring skill and adaptability. Her early matches displayed her technical skills and ability to connect with audiences, establishing her as a rising star.

Mio wrestled for various promotions including Pro Wrestling Wave, Ice Ribbon, and World Wonder Ring Stardom. She became a high-flying competitor with many awards and new techniques. Her career highlight was working as a singles competitor and a tag team wrestler. She teamed with her sister, Io Shirai, in popular matches that defined the wrestling landscape.

Transition to Refereeing

After several injuries, Mio Shirai decided to leave in-ring competition in September 2015. But she loved wrestling and wanted to remain in the industry so she became a referee. This allowed her to continue wrestling and support other wrestlers.

Family and Personal Life

Having a supportive and close family has helped Mio Shirai along the way. Her sister Io Shirai currently signed to WWE, is one of the best known Japanese wrestlers internationally. The sisters have often credited each other for mutual inspiration and support, both in their professional endeavors and personal lives.

Mio married wrestler Tank Nagai in 2016. The couples have preferred to keep their family lives private, and their partnership is admired by fans who appreciate their work in wrestling. The couple has no publicly known children, focusing instead on their careers and personal growth.
